Had a letter from Sky claiming they owed me money. Haven't had a sky account for years . Scam I think will not be phoning this number 08081014437

Not a scam. All 0808 numbers are free, just like 0800. Check BT's website if you like. Some idiots are making this out to be a scam!SKY are doing an old accounts clearing exercise. Sky said it began sending letters at the beginning of this month to some customers who left the telecoms giant before 2012 explaining that they're due a refund. I have just rang through to Sky Billing on 0333 202 2133 as I wanted to make sure this was a genuine letter even though it looks official. I gave them the account number at the top of the letter and they have confirmed that the refund is genuine and will be sent out to me via Chq. These refunds have been down to, a maintenance clean on old accounts and some refunds being issued. Worth checking your own accounts and see how much you are owed.

Had a letter from Sky.com/mysky telling me i had an outstanding credit they would like to pay me back…..with the number 08081014437 but i have not been with sky for years….scam comes to mind!!

Git this letter from sky, claiming they owe me money. And like an arse I rang them in the number given. Absolute scam, £300 connection and £17 a minute which I have to pay as I rang the number. DONT RING THE NUMBER.

Apparently.. this number has been sent out to Sky customers in very official '' Sky'' envelopes and letters saying that the correct named customer has a credit from sky and the customer has to ring the number to claim for their refund, but the number is tagged to a premium number which will cost you dearly.. DO NOT RING IT

don't no if its a scam or not..didn't receive a letter so just aint going to call it :)

Reports in social media that this is a premium rate number are incorrect. 0808 numbers are regulated by OFCOM and are free from landlines. However, the letters being sent to people as if from Sky are a scam of some nature.

i havent been with sky for over 8 years ,why would they give me a refund now???? dont trust it

You must have rang from a mobile then because 0808 numbers are free to call from landlines.

This is not a scam. It's a free phone number and it on,y asks to confirm the account no on the letter.
