5 phone calls so far all different people, all foreign accents claiming my son needed to call them about a 'personal banking matter' form Halifax. Then we received a very dodgy letter from 'halifax' saying he had missed a payment but no detail as to what the payment was and to pay we had to give our card number as our reference number when we paid on line!! Massive scam

Just had message saying to ring about our account - never had an account with Halifax! I suppose some people must fall for this or they wouldn't bother. As others say though, a bank wouldn't contact you this way.

I got a call from this number asking for my husband, saying it was Halifax, could he call back. I thought it sounded dodgy, told I'm when he got home - he said they'd called him at work too and he wasn't sure if it was fake so he went into a branch. Yes, it was legitimate, there was an issue on his account they wanted to talk to him about - this really is a bank service centre calling.

I got a text from this number. They quoted the last 4 digits of my bank account no so I thought it was legit. The whole system was set up very well, they had an automated phone sounding just like Halifax. But thank god I got a feeling and hung up when she asked me for my personal details

This number is the Halifax, before i called i read the reviews and was hesitant. It is genuinely the Halifax, their was a problem with my account as someone was trying to get a CC in my name. To be honest I would not ignore this for too long because it could be happening to you. You don't even have to give card details if are worried. They are based in Scotland.
