it's a fraud don't answer this number! They are not RBC, they are phishing for info

Called by RBC Visa on this number. Didn't trust the automated message saying there was fraud on my card so returned the call to the number on the back of my card. Indeed, there was fraud on my card so it appears this number is legit.

I returned a missed call from this number and the recording says : ' Thank you for returning our call, this is Royal Bank security departement, this is in rapid automated system, please press any key to continue and to make sure that your credit card is secure' something along those lines... sounds legit. But I will rather call back the number in the back of my RBC card to make sure they are who they say they are..

Automated call saying it was from RBC that card was compromised and to call back this 800-711-9946 number. Best thing to do (which RBC has told me) is to call back the number on back of the card. This option will always be given in legit phone messages.

My son had an account with Playstation, I have noticed that ever since their servers got hacked ( in May ) I have been receiving these calls from ' my bank ' telling me about some security breaches in my account. I am going in the branch tomorrow to re-negociate my mortgage and I will make sure to address the issue at the same time. We just don't know who to trust these days..

Phishing. They call about RBC card, not being RBC

This is one of the numbers for the new automated (and not yet perfect) Royal Bank security. It is legitimate (and really new). The voice mail they left for me sort of sounded like it was from World Bank, but it was Royal Bank. Strangely enough they refer to Royal Bank credit cards rather than RBC VISA, but still, I have confirmed they are legit. However, it certainly never hurts to call the number on your statement or on your credit card, just to be safe.

I get a call in this morning，missed ,they leave a voice record automatic, say they come from RBC bank, let me call back ,i search google, found this is not a RBC number

The message said that our credit card ending in four certain digits had been used and we needed to call to continue using our card.

i use back number of credit card to call back. it verify my account didnt have any transations. Additionly, i request 1-800-711-9946 . is this number belong to Rbc bank or rbc credit card center , or rbc any department of rbc have this number belong. i 'm 100 veryfied this is not a scam # for caller . it is rbc security credit center! it approved fraud taking action under my credit card. rbc it cancels my credit card right away. i m so thankful it and admire they do the good job!

'Unknown Name' left message as automated to call back 800-711-9946 about a problem with my RB Visa card. I went online and got the Fraud Dept. Directly and yes, my card was compromised last night in another country. All cleared up. They could NOT verify that number though. Best to use straightforward info to make sure all is legit.

Getting call Identified as RBC but scam

Legitimate, though I did call the 1-800 number on the back of my VISA card to return their message. They were checking an online transaction I had made for a gift card in Australia. Appreciate the extra security from RBC.

Got a call from 'World Bank Security Department' on my land line and then a few minutes after on my cell phone! I do not have an account with this bank. These fraudsters have gained access to a caller list with land line and cell numbers and are calling down the list one by one. Be warned! Do not answer or give any personal information!

Scam email, super annoying

Funny how for us, it was the Scotia Bank. But the same number. Called Scotia, confirmed to me this was a fraud.

Voicemail said it was RBC and had the last 4 digits of my credit card number - pretty sketched out

Auto message said 'this is an urgent message for me and I should press 1 if it's me, which I did. Then it asked me to confirm 1 of 3 postal codes, which 1 was actually mine' at that point I hung up.

I received a message regarding recent activity on my account and I was to call them immediately. They actually had the last 4 digits of my card number. Scary.

called my number and said that card was compromised, call your number on the back of card and push option 2, if u are not comfortable, all your number on the back of card and press option 2, he refused to give his name accent was strange

I didn't trust the number, so I called the number listed on the back of my credit card. It turns out my card really had been compromised and was then cancelled. So, while this is a legitimate phone call, it never hurts to confirm with a trusted phone number instead.

Reported issue with my RBC credit card.Voice mail sounded exactly like RBC. Had last 4 numbers of my credit card.

It is a scam. They will ask you to verify your postal code but DO NOT give it. Double check your bank account and call the RBC number on the back of your card.

This number called my husband and left a voicemail saying there were problems with my card. I called back... all automated. Asked me to identify my postal code from a choice of 4 options. When I said none of them were correct they said they would connect me to a security representative which never connected. I wanted to see how far I could get with their scam. THIS IS NOT RBC. Only call the number on the back of your credit card & block & report this number to RBC.

Sounded like a scam. Read messages here. Phoned number on back of my RBC Visa and found call was legit. Turned out my card had been used in Chicago. New cards being sent to us.

Just got a call from 800-711-9946 with an automated message saying there was a security issue with my card. Thought it was a scam, and called the number on the back of my RBC card to verify. Turned out it was a legitimate, and there was an unauthorized transaction on my card ... so they went ahead to cancel the transaction and my RBC card .... it'd be safe than sorry!

Totally legitimate call. Called back using 1-800-ROYAL12 (back of credit card) and they confirmed they had an automated system when they detect suspect activity with the credit cards.You can call back either number (probably faster using the automated system's number, otherwise choose option 0 to speak to attendant).
