A message was left on my machine regarding calling this number to verify recent credit card account activity.This number belongs to Wells Fargo's fraud protection department. It's hard to find it listed online, but VISA does list it as the contact number for Wells Fargo card services on Visa.com so it is indeed valid.

Its not a scam, someone made a duplicate Debit card out of my card and charges some stuff at retail storescall them back or go to a local branch if you dont want to call them backits wells fargo fraud.

This is a legitimate number. I had a message from this number left this morning stating that they wanted to verify charges against my card ending in '4127'. Being cautious, I called the number on the back of my card and they transferred me to Wells Fargo Fraud Services. As it turns out, there was five fraudulent charges in the last day. They have cancelled the account and are overnighting me new cards. Kudos to Wells Fargo!!

It is Wells Fargo as hubby called the number on the back of the card. Someone was attempting to make fraudulent purchases/charges and WF rejected the charges and called to let us know.

It is wells fargo fraud claims service. I recently had someone use my card and I have been working with them to investigate it. It is a legit phone number, but only to the fraud claims.

800-869-3557 (800-TO WELLS) is the Phone Bank customer service number; 800-723-5533 is WF Fraud Detection/Prevention for Card Services. The PHone Bank will be able to confirm this number.

This number is indeed for Wells Fargo's fraud department. After speaking with them I also called the number on the back of my card and verified the same.

This is, indeed, Wells Fargo's fraud prevention line. I never call my bank back at numbers they leave on my phone, opting instead to call the usual customer service number and getting a representative on the phone that way. However, the call I received this morning was from a Wells Fargo representative looking to verify card activity (legit activity, but it kicked off some flag in their system). I still always play it safe and call the number on my card, but you may all rest assured that this is not a phishing scam calling you from this number.

Yes, it's legit. I had some problems with my card, which Wells handled, and they called back to make sure all was OK.

I got a call.voicemail from this number said it was wells fargo theft protection (which i have) wanted to verify some charges on my account, they left the call back number 888-691-8470 I googled it first, then when i called back they asked for my card number... that was all, even before my name... so i just hung up.
