I've received two recorded messages from TD Banknorth saying 'it is very important that you call us about your account at 800-806-8840'. The first time I called the 800 # and they asked for my account number, I said I don't have it, they asked for my social security #, I said, 'no way.' I questioned who they really were and was told to watch for something coming in the mail. The second time I found TD Bank's direct number and they verified I have no account and they are not trying to reach me. I haven't had an account there in many years. And TD Banknorth is now TD Bank. I'm going to report the calls to my Secretary of State's office.

I have been receiving phone calls from this number for a few months, but I never answer because I don't know the number. They never leave a message, either. Finally decided to check it out, and I'm glad I did--sounds like a big scam!!

They called me to inform me that my CycleGear (motorcycle clothing and equipment) credit card was past due. All they asked me was my phone number, which I gave them 'cause they already had it. They then verified my name & address. I still wasn't comfortable giving them other info over the phone, so I told them that I would make a payment ASAP. Seemed legitimate to me.

Received a call from 800-806-8840, on my work phone VM, stating 'Hi My name is Rosa and I am with TD Bank. I need you to call me, it is a personal matter.' So I called the number she left, and it just kept repeating saying that a rep will be with you; over and over, which seems sketchy I went a head and Called TD bank and they said it could be a scam. I called the number back and this time someone answered and asked me for my account number and I said, you called me, I don't even know who you are with! The guy then said we are a retail credit service provider for multiple companies. So he asked for the number that was called and he couldn't find it, then he asked me for my first and last name and he found me in the system and it was for my Stihl account. The call was legit.

I got a hold of this number....was in regards to my Fred Meyer jewelers account..... The woman who answered the phone... was very unprofessional though... A machine tells me a rep will be right with me.. when she picked up... she just said 'Hello?' Ummmm This number keeps calling me what do you want? 'Well whats your account number?' I don't have one, I have no idea who you are! She tells me who they are finally.... I don't trust them.. I will never make a payment to them over the phone.. I will pay the actual card I OWE not some crap service paid to track me down.

Received call stated it was regarding personal account for my husband for an account through TD Bank, which we do not have. He was to return his call at 800-806-8840, when returning a phone call asked for account number, which we did not have. Then he would not release any information and provided me with a head quarter number 211-818-4000, which is disconnected. Also, explained to him that the number is a scam, he disagreed. Then I called the actual TD Bank, in which they have no record of the either number to call provided to me. Along with we have no account with them.MAJOR SCAM!!!!! Glad I caught it and called them back to let them know they are running a SCAM!!!

It was a legitimate call. I just gave them my phone number and they told me which card it was. It turned out to be a card my wife rarely uses but used and she missed her payment. They did not ask for payment over the phone.

Received a call claiming they were with TD Banknorth. i contacted TD banknorth and they have no record of this number.

Got a call from this number today asking for my son. They said it was account servicing but would not tell me about what. They indicated it was an important call about his account. I gave the number to my son and he called but it just rang and rang. No answer. We are assuming it is a scam as well.

the actual phone number on my called ID was 201 818 4000 but when they said to call back it's the 800 806 8840 number. creepy

I received a call today from a 201-818-4000 a recording claiming that they are with TD Bank and that they have an urgent buisiness matter to discuss, and left 800-806-8840 as a call back number. I DON'T have any accounts with TD Bank and called their customer service number on the official website to question if this is one of their numbers. And of course they said NO...BIG SCAM!!!

The first call I got it was a male's voice was on the other side. He was super nervous. He asked me if a have a TD Bank account. That's when I knew it was a false call. I called him out and said I said I will not answer any questions, and he transferred me an automatic answering machine. Second time a very confident young's women's voice telling me that TD bank is a financial institution not a bank. Another clue it was a false call. I have no active accounts with TD bank. So I asked her to please provide me the phone number that I will call her back at a more convenient time. She said I can call 7 days a week from 9am to 9pm to this number# 800-806-8840. I am happy I did not fall into there trap. I am just heart broken to hear young people on the other side of the phone scamming people. I will never give anyone any personal information to anyone.

received a call from this number a few days ago. left a message to contact them but i have never heard of them before. must be some kind of scam!!!

9/17/15-i just received a call as well from this number and when asking for why they are calling they wouldn't tell me unless i gave them date of birth and social, etc.

Had a message left saying need to contact me at 1-800-806-8840 incoming call was from 201-818-4000 and 602-385-1605 Asking for account # ssn ect scam scam scam called TD Bank and reported it. I have never had an account with them.

I just got a call from this number (1800-806-8840) and a machine told me to call them TD Bank to address an urgent matter. I called the number twice and it rang several times until the call was disconnected. Never got an answer or voicemail.

this wasn't a scam for me. they were calling to tell me that there was a past due balance on my rooms to go credit card. glad i called back.

Received a message from someone from this number saying they were TD Bank and for me to call them. I called back to find out what it was about and he said he had no record of calling. Then he asked for my account number. I said I didn't have an acct. Then he asked for my social which I said I am not giving that out. I said I didn't have an acct with TD Bank and he said you must because we don't make random calls.

Phone Number Incoming: 201-818-4000 I blocked this number on my cell phone. They still managed to leave a voicemail message. They wanted me to call 800-806-8840. Recorded message 'It is important to call this number 800-806-8840. Office hours 8-8 Monday - Thursday 8 -5 Friday 12 - 5 Saturday & Sunday.' They have called me everyday 4 times a day. Just called them & they immediately asked for my acct. # . They did not identify themselves. After I told them I turned them into the Better Business Bureau & looked up the number on line, the girl then asked me for my phone #. I told her I was not going to give her any information over the phone. I, then, asked her the purpose of the call & to identify the co. She said she was with a bank....no name. She then promptly hung up.
