Get calls from this number almost every day. It says on caller ID (landline) that it is Bank of America. They say we have money in their bank, but need me to give them the account number to verify. I don't even use this bank.

This is a legit number. I just applied for a US Bank Money Market Savings account online and they were calling to inform me that my application was approved and it was ready to use.

Additional comment:This phone number is listed on the US Bank Security Alert page. HOWEVER, the Internet link provided in the bogus email (http://www.usbank.com/cgi_w/cfm/about/online_security/online_fraud.cfm) DOES NOT correspond to the US Bank Internet addresses. All of the US Bank addresses were on a secured site with - https://www4.usbank.com - as the prefix. Note that the real US Bank addresses all have the 4 after www.

2nd call -- I just bought a pay-as-u go phone because I only use the phone for emergencies only. I DO NOT have any accounts with USBANK; plus this is a new cell phone - bought within the last month; new number; and I have NOT given it out to ANYONE, except for my immediate family - husband and kids for emergency contact ONLY. STOP THESE CALLS, PLEASE!

I got the exact same email on April 3 as well -- and I don't even have a U.S. Bank credit card. I am sotired of all this fraud that goes on. I just dealt with another fraud issue with Bank of America. Who andwhat can we trust these days.

I received an e-mail supposedly coming U.S. Bank giving me some nonsense about my e-mail address.Inside that e-mail, they are now bold enough to list a phone number to call (800-872-2657 as customer service. Just so happens I have a credit card with U.S. Bank and there is no such number listed on their documents. They are really getting bold with providing fake phone number now. !!

I just got a call from them (at 8am sharp) asking for my sister. They asked if I knew anyone with that name. I said no. Then the guy asked if I was lying to him, at which point I asked who what company was calling from and he said he was not able to disclose that information. So I hung up...It's not US Bank. And my call was from a real person, not a machine. My sister has never used US Bank.

I got a text about a new checking account with US Bank from this number but it wasn't me. They followed up with a mailing soon after.

Receive calls continually. Never leaves message or get a message playing a note then hanging up.

Funny, I received the same call and fraudulent warning about a credit card. I have no accounts with US Bank.I never answered the phone. Voice mail sounded pretty scripted.

Two calls, No messageI never answer 'toll-free' callers. When long distance is almost free, why bother with a caller that's hiding with a 'toll-free' ID?

I called my personal representative at US Bank, and she said this is the US Bank phone number. i received an email from them, and called this number, as you all, very concerned it wasn't legit. she said US bank number is 800-US BANKS.

Some of you are brave to follow their instructions and push 1. How do you know that you're not actually pressing 1 to accept charges on an expensive call or something and then these scammers try to keep you talking?I'm not willing to risk it. I've received 3 calls from them 2 of them from the number reported here and another from 317-831-8521. In all cases when I've answered the phone it was an automated message that seemed to have the first part missing. All I got was 'Press 1 to accept or press 2 for voice mail' so I've just hung up in each instance. Actually I've only answered 1 time the other 2 were messages left on my machine or voice mail but the message was the same as I described above.Those of you who have actually pressed 1 and talked I'd like for you to post a message back when you get your next phone bill and see if there are any rogue charges.

This is a legit number for US Bank. I just opened an account with them & they call incessantly! Annoying, but not bogus.

They have called multiple times finally asked them why were they calling and was told to XXXXX XX. Just hung up and reported the number along with blocking them.
