just received a letter in the post asking for 27000 pounds, don't phone the number as its a scam with a pre recorded message, 02-06-21

Just received a letter that looks very, very formal and perfectly replicates a H.M.R.C letter saying that my ltd business owes £808.32 in employers N.I contribution (which I know it does) so I logged into my H.M.R.C account and my balance owed was £0. That got me suspicious so I googled the phone number on the letter which lead me here.Very, very crafty and very dangerous, be careful folks.

I received letter for overdue tax, for ltd that I closed last year. Maybe I wouldn’t be suspicious and called the number, but my sister got the same amount for her ltd. I must say letter looks very convincing.

Yes I had this delightful call today. I didn't press 1 so looks like I'm going to be arrested soon! Really concerned for older people who will fall for this scam

This is a really detailed scam don’t phone it. All the call tree options are press #1 which will charge you a premium rate. If you don’t press any of them you get put on hold. Either it’s a waste of time or these guys are connecting you to HMRC where they can listen in to your call and get more details.

I have been billed £1.86 for a call to this number that was never made. I was supposedly on the phone for 1 hour 11 minutes and 29 seconds and got charged for the time after 1 hour.

received a call from this number saying they are HMRC, told to verify number on gov.uk, the real contact for HMRC was 2 digits different

Received a letter from hmrc for overdue tax and NI. Very convincing. But tax reference was wrong. Googled number, found this page!!! Very concerning as I have called the number but been on hold for ages. I may be expecting a large phone bill!!!!!!
