called my cell last week..called back from home phone..no one answers

THEY CALL BUT THEY NEVER SAY WHAT FOR I DON'T KNOW WHO THEY ARE.

They are trying to collect from people on old Debt. They callem me on monday and wanted to collect on a phone bill that was 9 (Yes 9) Years old. It was a bill from AT&T, and it had already been paid off. Be Forwarned, do not pay them even a partial payment because once you do, the clock for the debt will reset to Zero. The Statute of limitations varies from state to state, but is usually 6 years. When you reset that clock, it can reflect on your Credit Report.

Keeps on saying it's a 'business matter' sounds like a scam

I have them blocked on my cell phone. But still have to delete voice mails and it is that brittish voice I hear same message each time they leave a messag. Tried callin to ask them to stop calling, but they never answer. Is there no place to go to report them or get them to stop.

Left no message. I called back and asked what they wanted. A man who answered would not tell me what their business was.

Thank you so much for the information. I sent them a request of validation, but in the mean time they are still calling. When they ask me for my SS number I refused to give it to them, but it did not match the first and last numbers they have. They told me to disreguard and then they turn around and start this. They are going to wish they had not messed with me.

Setup a YouMail account if this is a Cell phone, add the call as a ditched call. They will get a message that the number has been disconnected.. Bye bye.

Unsolicited call. Caller said nothing when I answered my phone. They stayed on the call until I hung up.

In responsr to long comment. Debt does not start anew if you get a phone call or letter. You have to make a payment for that to happen So just ignore them and autoreject their number.

My wife is in hospice here at home. They called at 830am and woke her when she needs sleep and rest. If I can get my hands on these people, they won't be calling anyone ever again.

She would not identify herself(she was a foreigner), said it was urgent and asked if I knew a name I had never heard of. When I asked her for some company information she refused and when I offered to report her to the better business bureau she disconnected the call. And I have no outstanding/overdue debts.

I got 25 since 9 am

I called back the number that was left on my voicemail. The gentleman was polite but uninformative. I would not leave any of my information with him. He politely assumed he called a wrong number. From reading other comments I learned this is a debt collection agency and I DO NOT have any debt.

These people call every morning at 9:30. I answer and it is a recorded message from Kelly Smith ,woman with British accent , a debt collector. I press the button to accept the call, I say hello and they hang up. Call the number back I get a recording to leave a message or press another number for assistance. I press for assistance and the phone hang up. I am thinking scam. I am calling my state attorney office.

Keeps calling my cell phone in the last hour at least 5 times in no messages left.

I have been getting more and more of these calls and I am on the no-call list! I let the phone ring several times before I picked it up, once I picked it up the caller hung up! Not sure why these people or computers programed by these people do these type of things????? I want them to stop! Can't the government do more to end this type of harrassment?????

25 calls in 4 hours. They are a collection agency in Houston. I have already told them i am not who they are looking for. My social security number did not match who they are trying to find.

called asked me my name last 4 of social said I wasn't the right one.. god I hope its not a scam.

Never ever give out your social security number to ANYONE that you don't know who exactly it is. Just block the call.

I have received 10 calls from 855-343-7888 between 9:00 A.M. and 9:35 AM today. I am at work and this has to stop.

The 855 number is the callback number these cons give you on their voicemail message asking for someone with the same or similar name to yours. They call me 3 times per day, every day and they can keep on doing it as much as they want. I am not answering as it is not for me.

I just received three calls from 855-343-7888 within 5 minutes. It's a recorded message from a woman with a british accent calling for someone who doesn't even live here; it is some type of collection agency. I'll answer next time they call and try to get them to stop calling my number.

These scammers called a distant family member of mine looking for me, but wouldn't give information. So, I called and the rep kept talking in circles because I wouldn't provide my information. I check my credit frequently and know for a fact that i don't owe anyone. I don't believe he had the audacity to ask for personal information without even saying who they were. This is definitely some sort of scam!

I came home to twelve (12!) messages on my machine from British robot lady. Some nonsense about generic debt owed to collector. Fraudulent. For sure.

I am getting these calls and I've checked all three of my credit reports and have no outstanding debts. It's odd that I just go in the mail a collecting letter that was settled over 10 YEARS AGO! I've responded to that with a 'DO NOT CONTACT ME' AND 'I DISPUTE THIS CLAIM'. Don't know if they are connected, but my gut says yes.

They say they are collecting on a debt, and they try to get you to confirm their info they supposedly have on you. First off they info is way off, secondly I wouldn't even give them my info, because they sound like a bunch of morons. They just need to f**k a goat.

Got a call from 855-343-7888 at 8:30 PM last night, was a recorded message looking for B. French. I called this company back February 23, 2012, I advised that they have the wrong # and told them that i have had this cell # for over 4 years, But still i get calls from them and want these calls to stop. this is not the first time they have called and i told them they have the wrong #.

robo-call for debt collection, calls many times a day with a recording of some british lady.

Sounds like a SCAM - telling me they are trying to collect a debt which I don't have.

It was a Robo dial they left a message to call the 855-343-7888 number back and it isn't a working number when I call the other number that was left on my caller id no one will speak to me. The robot thing says its a debt collection from convertions or something like that.

I received over 100 calls in one day from this number, when I looked at my caller ID after work. Never left message. When I answered their call, they said they were calling about a business matter and wanted my SS# to verify. I asked what business matter this was, and they refused to tell me. I quickly hung up.

received the call to collect a credit card debit from 2008, I laughed and asked her if she realized that was eleven years ago, she didn't find my comment funny. I answered the first time but that was the last time!

I keep getting stupid calls from this company. They called about this same mystery person a couple of years ago and they stopped calling, until now. Now they make calls with robots and expect you to call back. Give me a freaking break.

I have received 12 calls from this number since 9:30am this morning. The calls are coming back to back, non stop. They never leave a message, just keep calling. Is there no end for the harrassing phone calls?

Rcvd a call from this number-automated recording claiming to be a collection agency-can't imagine why-have had zero debt and no open accounts in 4 years. Everything is paid off....slim balls.

When they call back answer and say your call is being recorded for legal purposes if you do not wish to be recorded you can hang up. Then IF they say they decline to be recorded tell them too bad your call is being recorded, you have been informed, you can hang up if you wish. If they continue and claim a debt demand a letter of validation be sent through the mail. Tell them they can have no information until receipt of the letter of validation. Inform them that you will pursue any violations of the FDCPA in court.
