Obviously a scam. I don't think even HMRC would ever resort to this kind of automated calling. These very clever scammers ought to get themselves legitimate occupations!

I've just had a call from this number accusing me of tax fraud and threatening arrest. I've blocked it. It's clearly nuisance callers.

It is an automated voice in an american accent saying there is a tax fraud case opened in my name and a warrant out for my arrest.

Like many, many other people, I've received calls from this number. All I can say is, good job I am of sane mind. Had it been some poor person who maybe very old or very ill, the thought of what could happen to them mentally is very is very frightening. Wonder if the government could intervene on this very, very frightening matter.

6 calls this week - one with American voice claiming tax fraud and an arrest warrant. Like everyone else I believe HMRC should take this matter in hand and a Police investigation instigated

This number 03453003909 called me this morning and said I was being investigated for fraud and an arrest warrant is out for me. It's obviously a fake call, as hrmc will not contact you via call or leave an american accent voice mail. This number needs to be reported asap!.

DANGEROUS SCAM - do NOT answer, do NOT press 1, do NOT call them back, you will NOT face any legal consequences for ignoring their obnoxious scary messages. They pretend to be calling from HMRC phone number, threatening you with immediate arrest for non-existent unpaid taxes unless they get an instant payment! They're persuasive, aggressive criminals using fear tactics to extort money from vulnerable people and have already claimed a number of elderly victims.

it is the correct number if you google it, but the fraudsters have hacked the system. i spoke to HMRC who confirm it is a scam and they are aware of it. if they phoned you (which would only be a call back that you were expecting), their call would show as number withheld. Also, they would right a letter to you and wouldnt call you.

Just received a call saying I was being investigated for tax fraud and dial 1 to speak to HMRC agent. I did not press anything - just hung up as Im sure it must be fraud but it is really uspetting and worrying. The number appears to be owned by HMRC?

This number rang me today yes it was automated. It stated that i am being investigated for tax credit fraud. This needs to be stopped immediately.

I phones 101 and they said that it's normally asking you to pay the balance there and then or scaring you into suggesting you'll do that, but it is a scam and a horrid one at that. If you can, report it to Action Fraud!
