Asian lady maintained she was from Mastercard/Visa security and my card had an unauthorised withdrawal by a guy in california of £600. She asked for my sort code and wanted me to goonto teamviewer so she could control my screen. I didn't like the sound of kids in the background so hung up and eventually got through to lloyds fraud. They saw nothing untoward in or pending and reckoned it was a scam.

This number called me at 0328 hours. Obviously, in the middle of the night. No voicemail left. Call cut off after 54 seconds. The system is programmed to default end call before 60 seconds. Always an indication of criminal activity. No legitimate bank, Lloyds or otherwise, would do this. I am not a Lloyds customer nor afliated to any company under their business umbrella. This call sounded legitimate, gave me an IBAN number and amount I was apparently trying to set up a payment for. I rang off as I hadn't tried to set up a new payment and they were asking me to put in a number from my internet banking screen. They rang back. I put the phone down and found that a number of internet queries about this number said it was legitimate. IT'S NOT LEGITIMATE.

This number rang my mobile (hadn't previously given him my mobile number) and asked me to put in a 4 digit code number that the caller had given me. Asked me to enter a 2nd code number. The scammer then told me to turn off my mobile for 1/2 hour which I unwisely did. (My bank kept texting me but mobile was turned off). The scammer then had access to my internet banking and tried to extract ¬£4000 from my account. Scammer pretended to be me but my bank realised he was the wrong gender.
